Dieter Roth's object "Gartenzwerg" (Gartenzwerg in Schokolade/ chocolate garden gnome, 1972) at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart- due to conservatorial provision- is not allowed to be moved nor be exposed to any other external man-induced events such as change of temperature or strong light. Otherwise it faces irrepealable decomposition. The work is manoeuvred into a curatorial impasse and hence not removable from it's momentanous position. Making a photography of "Gartenzwerg" in one take, theoretically would have required four flashes at full capacity. The museum at first insisted on three flashes, in the end agreed to five such. Under inspection of the responsible conservator in the end only four flashes could be made.

The installed photographic work „sediment“ exemplarily describes the relation between gravity and picture hanging. A highly secured picture shows a frame in which the formerly hanging photographs wither and start decomposing.

"several suggestions on how to behave in front of a wall and one recommendation on how not to behave in front of a wall", 2008
Inkjet-print on wall, Lamda-print framed, 550 x 330 cm

Following a report from a Londoner theosophical newspaper in the 20‘s, a myth arose that somewhere in the southwest corner of the Wavel castle in Krakow (domi cile of the former polish kings in Krakow) one of the seven „chakras“ would be hid den behind a wall. In Hinduism, the seven chakras are considered as places, respectively as the earth‘s adenoids, where a particularly spiritual energy unloads. Visitors of the chakra tour the castle‘s southwest corner at regular intervals. Some of them rub them selves to the wall in order to captivate the most energy from the hidden chakra. This led to the wear out of the wall as well as to its staining. The castle‘s director decided to prevent the wear out and the contact to the wall. Therefore he placed in front of it a pseudo-exhibition about the history of the caste‘s refurbishment. The five metallic displays and stone stands of the actual exhibition are installed 50 cm away from the wall.
